I am proud to be working here at Tempe Mission Palms, where I get to welcome tourists from all over the world who come to see the beauty of Arizona. Whether they are here to appreciate the natural wonder of the Grand Canyon, the red rocks of Sedona, or experience the “Wild West” in Tucson, there is something for everyone who visits this magnificent state. On February 14th, 2012, Arizona will turn 100 years old. Yes, that is Valentine’s Day – the day where love is in the air, and this year, I will profess my love for my home state.
When people ask me, “Why do you love Arizona?” It’s an easy answer – because it has so much to offer. I have always loved the fact of the location itself. One can waterski and snow ski on the same day, hike 13,000 feet up Humphreys Peak in northern Arizona, and then visit Kartchner caverns in the southern part of the state. Tourists can head to historic Jerome to taste locally produced wines, or see a gunfight reenactment in Tombstone. The list goes on and on, as there is never a shortage of “something to do or see” here in Arizona.
I also cannot profess my love for Arizona without mentioning the city of Phoenix, and suburbs of Tempe, Scottsdale, and Glendale. These cities have some of the best dining with award-winning restaurants and chefs, world-class hotels and resorts, and unique shops for clothing, jewelry, and art. Although many cities have all this, it really is the friendly people of Arizona that makes it special – and the best.
I wish a very happy 100th birthday to my home state of Arizona. I hope that your travels will bring you to this beautiful state, so you too, can enjoy its many offerings. Tempe Mission Palms will be here to welcome you, and make your Arizona experience unforgettable!
