Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon in Tempe, Arizona
A fun “spin” on a classic race, is the 10th anniversary of Arizona’s P.F. Changs Rock ‘n Roll Marathon & ½ Marathon. This year’s event takes place on Sunday, January 20th, and benefits many local and national charities including St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. A qualifier for the Boston Marathon, participants run while they “rock out” through three Arizona cities, with music acts on every mile of the course.
Runners and spectators alike will enjoy this special event with entertainment, bands, an expo, and much more. Live bands perform a variety of music from classic rock to jazz, to punk-rock, and everything in-between. The 2013 Finsh Line Concert will be headlined by Andy Grammer, singer of the top 10 song “Keep Your Head Up,” wrapping up a running-party that is sure not to be missed.
Tempe Mission Palms is right in the heart of the course, as the starting line for the ½ marathon is just a block away from the hotel. Runners can easily access the start of the full marathon by using the METRO Light Rail, just across from Tempe Mission Palms as well. The finish line for both races is just a ten minute walk from the hotel, and nice way to “cool down” those exhausted muscles. Tempe Mission Palms is very excited to once again host participants and their families during this exciting weekend!
